OUR
STORY

Norfolk Young Farmers & Countrysiders is part of the National Federation of Young Farmers’ Clubs (NFYFC), one of the UK’s largest rural youth organisations, supporting over 25,000 members across nearly 600 clubs nationwide.

Our mission is simple: to bring young people together through Fun, Learning and Achievement. Whether you’re interested in agriculture, competitions, social events, community projects or simply making lifelong friendships, there’s a place for you.

Today, Norfolk Young Farmers has 10 senior clubs for members aged 14–30, all run by members, for members. We also have 7 Countrysiders clubs, with plans to expand and welcome even more people into our community.

1921

The Young Farmers' movement began in 1921 in Hemyock, Devon, where local young people were encouraged to develop agricultural skills through calf rearing competitions.

Today

Today, that same spirit continues through Young Farmers' Clubs across the UK—bringing together thousands of members to learn new skills, give back to their communities and create lifelong friendships.

Movement expands nationally

Over the following years, clubs expanded across the country, teaching practical skills in livestock care, horticulture, beekeeping and other aspects of rural life. As the movement grew, it evolved beyond agricultural education to become a thriving social network for young people in rural communities.
